A camera gave me a way to keep the faces of the people I met.
Sophie Deserdieu spent her career as an art dealer in Impressionist and Modern art. She has taken photographs since her teens.
An interest in remote tribes and cultures has taken her to Irian Jaya in Indonesia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Namibia, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and India. Photography became the way to record the people she met and stayed with on those journeys.
She divides her time between Paris, Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, and the places she has yet to visit.
